I've basically dropped the ball with this blog lately, but it's not because I've grown tired of promoting Yellowknife and chatting about YK issues. I've simply taken on a huge pile of work with the Long John Jamboree, Yellowknife's new winter festival - which, incidentally, is going to be totally off the hook.
But I do miss blogging, and, as it turns out, I could use the help of the YK blogging community (it's so hard to ask for help....so hard). I'm looking for volunteers to help develop some content for the Jamboree website. Specifically, I'd like some content for the "Come to YK" page. The rest of the website is going to get beefed up handily beginning next week, but I don't see how our marketing team will have time to develop the Come to YK page properly. All I'm really looking for are some short descriptions of cool things to do in YK in the spring. We need descriptions of the standards stuff (walk to Cameron Falls, etc.), but I'm also hoping for some little know secrets. It's an amazing time of year to be in YK, so this really shouldn't be that hard.
So what do you think? Any takers? You'll get huge props at all our events, and you'll be helping to boost a part of our economy (tourism) that just needs a gentle push to become truly world class.
Here is a link to the page so you can check it out: http://www.longjohnjamboree.ca/LongJohn_Jamboree/COME_to_YK.html
Please help!
Adrian
